PM2.5 Symposia

The BAAQMD is seeking to regulate PM2.5 and potentially ultrafines through permitting, but has been vague on details and its strategy. The Scientific Advisory Council (SAC) has held a series of symposia on PM2.5 and health impacts. The most recent meeting was November 9, 2020. CCEEB continues to track SAC meetings closely and provide comments on its approach.

Most of the Advisory Council Members’ terms end this year and CCEEB is seeking input on nominations to fill vacant seats. Please let us know if you have recommendations.

Budget and Fees

The BAAQMD is revisiting new and revised fee schedules for FYE 2021. The Budget and Finance Committee adopted a new AB 617 fee for Title V facilities in May 2020. The Committee is now considering economic and District-specific metrics to determine whether to proceed with revised fee schedules.
